Hostinger AI Automation Apps (2026)

Short answer: Hostinger’s managed AI automation plan includes four apps — OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, n8n, and Paperclip — under one subscription, and you can switch between them at any time. You pick one app to start; the plan handles setup, credits, updates, and security. Here is what each app does and how switching actually works.

The catalog at a glance

Hostinger’s product page lists the catalog as “Works with: Hermes, OpenClaw, n8n, Paperclip.” One subscription, four apps, switchable anytime. The plan promises: launch apps without technical setup, automate tasks around the clock with long-term memory, a visual interface or CLI, Telegram and WhatsApp connections, use of your ChatGPT Plus/Pro subscription, pre-configured AI credits, and managed security. Below is each app in practical terms — what it is, what it is for, and who should start with it.

OpenClaw: the personal AI assistant

OpenClaw is an open-source personal AI assistant framework (MIT license), originally created by Peter Steinberger as “Clawdbot,” renamed twice (Moltbot, then OpenClaw), and now stewarded by the OpenClaw Foundation. OpenClaw 2.0 shipped in August 2026. It connects a language model to messaging apps — Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, Discord, Signal — plus files, browsers, and tools through plugins called “skills.”

What it is for: conversational automation. OpenClaw lives where you already chat. You message it on WhatsApp to triage email, draft replies, do quick research, manage files, and run routines you define through skills. Hostinger’s own description: “a personal AI assistant for conversational automation via messaging channels.”

Start with OpenClaw if: your main use case is having an assistant in your pocket — chat-first, iterative, personal productivity. It is also the app with the broadest plugin ecosystem, so if you want community-built skills, this is where they live.

Our full OpenClaw guide covers its managed setup, the Hostinger Connector (which lets the agent manage your Hostinger VPS, domains, DNS, email, and billing via chat), and the honest cost picture.

Hermes Agent: the autonomous worker

Hermes Agent is an open-source, self-improving AI agent by Nous Research (MIT license) — not built by Hostinger. It executes tasks, learns from interactions, runs code when needed, and expands its capabilities over time. Where OpenClaw is the assistant you chat with, Hermes is the worker you hand jobs to.

What it is for: task execution and autonomous workflows. Scheduled monitors, research briefs, code tasks, multi-step jobs that run while you are away. Hostinger’s own description: “a self-improving AI agent built for task execution and autonomous workflows — ideal for users who want an agent that can learn, execute complex tasks, run code when needed, and expand its own capabilities over time.”

Start with Hermes if: your main use case is work that runs itself — jobs with steps, tools, and outputs, not conversations. The learning loop (your corrections improving future runs) is its signature feature.

Our full Hermes guide, setup walkthrough, and pricing breakdown cover the other three angles in depth.

n8n: the workflow plumbing

n8n is the popular open-source workflow automation platform: a visual node-based editor connecting hundreds of apps and APIs. If OpenClaw is the assistant and Hermes is the worker, n8n is the plumbing between your tools.

What it is for: deterministic automation. “When a new row lands in this sheet, enrich it, draft a message, and post it to Slack” — the kind of if-this-then-that logic that should run exactly the same way every time. Agents are probabilistic; n8n workflows are not. When reliability matters more than flexibility, n8n wins.

Start with n8n if: you already think in workflows, you need integrations with specific business apps, or you want automation that behaves identically on run 1,000 as on run 1. Many serious setups end up combining n8n (the reliable backbone) with an agent (the flexible brain) — and the managed plan lets you run both under one subscription, switching as needed.

Our n8n hosting guide covers the managed and VPS routes for n8n specifically.

Paperclip: the orchestration layer

Paperclip is Hostinger’s one-click AI orchestration option — Hostinger’s own page titles it “Paperclip VPS: One-Click AI Orchestration.” It deploys automatically with the VPS via Docker Manager (Paperclip and Traefik deploy together), and it is also one of the four apps in the managed catalog.

What it is for: running agent workloads as deployed infrastructure. If OpenClaw and Hermes are the agents and n8n is the workflow logic, Paperclip is the layer that hosts and orchestrates those workloads — closer to infrastructure than to a chat interface.

Start with Paperclip if: you are technical, you think in terms of deployed services rather than chat assistants, and you want the orchestration layer for agent workloads you operate yourself. For most non-technical buyers, OpenClaw or Hermes is the better starting app.

How switching between apps works

This is the plan’s signature feature, and it has one important catch. The mechanics:

  1. In your Hostinger dashboard, the AI apps section lets you switch your active app at any time — no separate purchase, no new checkout.
  2. Switching starts the new app fresh. Configurations, memory, conversation history, and custom setup do not transfer between apps.
  3. Your subscription, term, and billing are untouched. It is the same plan; only the running app changes.
  4. Credits are shared: the nexos.ai credit pool is shared across Hostinger AI products using AI credits, so switching apps does not strand a balance.

The practical implication: use switching to evaluate, not to operate. Try OpenClaw for two weeks, switch to Hermes for two weeks, and pick a winner for each real project. Running production work across frequent switches means rebuilding context every time — the fresh-start behavior makes that painful by design. Commit to one app per serious project.

One more boundary worth knowing: there is no migration path between managed apps (Managed OpenClaw to Managed Hermes settings do not transfer), and the one free Managed-to-VPS migration Hostinger offers applies to OpenClaw within 30 days of purchase. Moving Hermes to a VPS means a fresh template deploy.

Beyond the four apps, the plan includes: ~60-second launches with no technical setup, long-term memory for your agents, a visual interface plus CLI access, Telegram and WhatsApp connections, the option to use your ChatGPT Plus/Pro subscription via OAuth, pre-configured AI credits, and security, updates, and backups managed by Hostinger. What you do not get: root access, disclosed server specs, or control over update timing.

The honest cost framing: the base price in the card above is the 24-month rate (12-month and month-to-month terms cost more; it renews at the standard renewal rate, taxes excluded). AI credit usage is billed on top — the base price is a starting point, not a total. Our AI credits pricing guide explains the credit system honestly, including what Hostinger has not published.

Which app should you start with?

  • Personal productivity, chat-first: OpenClaw.
  • Autonomous tasks, scheduled jobs, code work: Hermes.
  • Deterministic app-to-app workflows: n8n.
  • Deploying agent workloads as infrastructure: Paperclip.

And if you genuinely do not know: start with OpenClaw. It is the most forgiving to evaluate — chat with it for two weeks, see what sticks, then switch to Hermes if your usage turns out to be task-shaped rather than conversation-shaped. The switch costs you nothing but the fresh start.

FAQ

Four apps under one subscription: OpenClaw (personal AI assistant), Hermes Agent (autonomous task worker), n8n (workflow automation), and Paperclip (AI orchestration). You pick one to start and can switch between them at any time. The plan also includes pre-configured AI credits, messaging connections, and managed security, updates, and backups.

Yes — switching apps under the same subscription costs nothing extra and needs no new checkout. The catch: the new app starts fresh. Configurations, memory, and history do not transfer between apps, so use switching to evaluate apps, not to run production work across them.

Yes. The nexos.ai credit balance is shared across Hostinger AI products that use AI credits, so your balance is not stranded when you switch apps. Oxylabs web-search credits work the same way. Only app-specific configuration and history are lost on a switch.

OpenClaw is the gentler start: it lives in messaging apps you already use, and chatting with an assistant is intuitive. Hermes pays off once you have concrete recurring tasks to hand off. If you are unsure, start with OpenClaw for two weeks, then switch — the evaluation costs you nothing.

No. n8n Cloud is n8n’s own hosted service with its own pricing. Hostinger’s managed plan includes n8n as one of four switchable apps under Hostinger’s subscription and credit system. If you want n8n specifically and nothing else, compare both — but the Hostinger plan’s value is the bundle and the switching.

Paperclip is Hostinger’s one-click AI orchestration option — the deployment layer for running agent workloads. It is available both as one of the four managed catalog apps and as a VPS Docker template (it deploys alongside Traefik). It is the most infrastructure-flavored of the four apps, aimed at technical users.
