How we tested: this site is the test lab
Most hosting reviews test a blank WordPress install on a plan they got for free. We did something harder to fake: HostDealsPro itself runs on Hostinger, the page you’re reading was served by the host we’re reviewing. Here are our real measurements, taken October 8, 2026, from our test server:
- Homepage HTML: ~51 KB. That’s the full document weight of our homepage, lean, which is partly our theme and partly the stack doing its job.
- Warm-cache TTFB: 0.32-0.38 seconds. Time to first byte on repeat visits, with the cache warm, consistently under four-tenths of a second.
- Full HTML delivery: ~0.44 seconds on a warm cache. The document lands fast; what slows real pages down is usually third-party scripts, not the host.
- First cold hit: 1.3 seconds. The very first request with nothing cached, honest, unflattering, and completely normal for shared hosting.
One thing we will not give you: a Lighthouse score. The PageSpeed Insights API was rate-limited when we measured, so no lab score exists, and we’d rather show you a gap than invent a number. Plenty of review sites publish suspiciously round scores with no methodology; we publish our raw timings and tell you exactly what we couldn’t measure. That difference is the whole point of this site.
What Hostinger is genuinely good at
The price-to-performance ratio is real. LiteSpeed servers, NVMe storage and HTTP/3 at this price point is not normal, competitors ship older stacks for more money. Our own timings above bear it out: sub-half-second document delivery on a budget shared plan is genuinely good.
hPanel is the easiest control panel in budget hosting. This is the most consistent praise across Reddit’s r/webhosting and every independent review we read: one-click WordPress, a dashboard that doesn’t scare beginners, and WordPress.org’s own recommendation behind it. If cPanel feels like piloting a 747, hPanel feels like driving a car.
The feature list is generous. Free domain for the first year on yearly-or-longer terms, free SSL everywhere, free migration, global data centers you actually get to choose, DDoS protection and a malware scanner even on cheap plans, SSH/Git/WP-CLI access, and a 30-day money-back guarantee across shared and VPS. The AI builder and Kodee assistant are genuinely useful starting points, not gimmicks, though the AI-written copy always needs a human pass.
Support is fast, if you accept the format. 24/7 live chat with a couple-of-minutes response time is the norm, and the AI triage resolves simple questions instantly. Reddit’s verdict: fine for beginners and intermediates, occasionally frustrating when you need a senior human fast.
Where it falls short (the honest part)
Renewals are the whole business model. The intro price is excellent; the renewal rate runs several times higher. This isn’t hidden, Hostinger publishes the renewal rates, but it is the thing most buyers don’t internalize until the bill arrives. We built an entire renewal price guide around this because no other review takes it seriously enough.
Everything good requires a long commitment. The headline rates need 48 months paid upfront. Shorter terms cost more per month for the same plan, there is no cheap flexible option. If you hate lock-in, the value proposition thins out fast.
No phone support, at any tier. Live chat only. For some businesses that’s a dealbreaker with no workaround, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
The small print adds up. Weekly (not daily) backups on Premium, entry-plan resource limits that a growing site will feel, checkout upsells, and, per Reddit, Hostinger’s server-level caching occasionally fighting WordPress caching plugins (fixable by leaning on LiteSpeed directly, but annoying). None of these are scandals; all of them are things a good review should mention, so we did.
| Time | Total | Real monthly |
|---|---|---|
| 1 year | $35.88 | $2.99/mo |
| 2 years | $71.76 | $2.99/mo |
| 4 years | $143.52 | $2.99/mo |
Based on the 48-month plan, paid upfront deal price, then $10.99/mo. Taxes not included.
Who should buy, and who should not
Buy if you’re starting a blog, portfolio, affiliate site or small business website; if you’re learning WordPress; if you want the most performance per dollar and you’re comfortable with chat support; if you can pay the long term upfront and set a renewal reminder.
Do not buy if you need phone support, it doesn’t exist here. Do not buy shared hosting for a store where downtime costs real money, shared is shared, and that’s a workload question, not a brand question. Do not buy if you need month-to-month flexibility, the economics only work on long terms. Do not buy for enterprise or high-traffic SaaS workloads, past roughly 100k monthly visits you’re shopping for VPS or managed cloud regardless of brand. And if your website is your livelihood and you want premium support depth, pay more for a premium host; that’s a legitimate trade, not a failure.
This is the section most affiliate reviews skip, because “don’t buy” doesn’t earn commissions. We include it because a recommendation you can’t trust is worthless, and because the readers who shouldn’t buy Hostinger are exactly the ones who’d blame us later.
What most Hostinger reviews get wrong
Having read the top-ranking reviews for this keyword, here’s what they miss, and what we do instead. Fake coupon codes: half the “reviews” are coupon pages listing codes nobody tested. We tested the only verified discount path (the referral link, 20% off in the cart, October 8, 2026) and list zero codes. No renewal math: almost nobody multiplies the renewal rate by the term. We do it on every page. Lab scores without methodology: suspiciously perfect speed scores with no explanation of what was measured. We show our raw timings and admit what we couldn’t measure. No skin in the game: reviewers on free demo accounts. We run this site on the product.
The result is a review with a bias you can see: we’re customers, we’re affiliates, and we tell you both upfront in our affiliate disclosure. Judge the claims, not the business model, every number on this page is checkable.

FAQ
Yes, it’s the use case Hostinger is best at. One-click WordPress, the clearest dashboard in the budget tier, and enough documentation to get unstuck. Our own site runs on it, and the setup took minutes, not hours.
Yes for small to medium WordPress sites, it’s on WordPress.org’s recommended list, with LiteSpeed caching and one-click installs. For a high-traffic WooCommerce store, consider the cloud or VPS tiers instead of shared.
No, support is 24/7 live chat (plus an AI assistant) at every tier. If phone support is a requirement for you, Hostinger is the wrong host, and we’d rather tell you now than after you’ve paid.
Shorter terms exist but cost more per month for the same plan, the advertised rates need the long term paid upfront. If you need true monthly flexibility, Hostinger’s value proposition mostly evaporates; that’s an honest limitation.
It’s Hostinger’s published guarantee, not our measurement, we haven’t run a multi-month uptime study. Our own site has been stable throughout this build. Treat the guarantee as a policy, not a promise about your specific server.
If you can afford it upfront: yes. It’s the lowest monthly rate and it postpones the renewal jump by years, the single biggest saving available, bigger than any sale. Check the cost box above for the real multi-year math first.
