You can use your Hostinger email address in Outlook on your computer and in the Mail app on your iPhone. You only need the right IMAP and SMTP settings, which this guide walks through step by step, plus fixes for the most common setup errors.
What you need before you start
- A mailbox already created in your Hostinger account (hPanel → Email → Email Accounts).
- The mailbox password. If you do not remember it, reset it in hPanel before you begin — guessing the password is the number one cause of failed setups.
- Your full email address (for example, [email protected]). Most mail apps want the full address as the username, not just the part before the @ sign.
Hostinger email IMAP and SMTP settings
Use these settings in any mail app. They work for both the free email included with hosting plans and the paid Business Email mailboxes.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| IMAP server (incoming) | imap.hostinger.com |
| IMAP port | 993 |
| IMAP security | SSL/TLS |
| SMTP server (outgoing) | smtp.hostinger.com |
| SMTP port | 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS) |
| Username | Your full email address |
| Password | Your mailbox password |
Note for Business Email users: Hostinger’s Business Email is powered by Titan. In most cases the settings above work, but some accounts use imap.titan.email and smtp.titan.email instead. If the hostinger.com servers fail, check the exact values in hPanel under Email → Email Accounts → your mailbox → connection or device settings, and use what is shown there.
Set up Hostinger email in Outlook (Windows)
- Classic Outlook: go to File → Add Account. New Outlook: go to Settings (gear icon) → Accounts → Email accounts → Add account.
- Type your full Hostinger email address and click Continue. Outlook will try to detect the settings automatically — it usually cannot, which is normal.
- Choose IMAP when Outlook asks for the account type (do not choose POP unless you specifically want mail downloaded to one device only).
- Enter the IMAP and SMTP details from the table above: imap.hostinger.com port 993 with SSL for incoming, smtp.hostinger.com port 465 with SSL (or 587 with STARTTLS) for outgoing.
- Enter your mailbox password when prompted and finish the wizard. Your folders and messages will start syncing — a large mailbox can take several minutes on first sync.
Set up Hostinger email in Outlook (Mac)
- Open Outlook, then Outlook → Settings → Accounts → the + button → New Account.
- Enter your email address. When automatic setup fails, click “Not Google?” or the IMAP option to enter settings manually.
- Fill in the IMAP and SMTP servers, ports, and security exactly as in the table above, using your full email address as the username.
- Save and wait for the first sync to complete before judging whether it worked.
Set up Hostinger email on iPhone (Mail app)
- Open Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account.
- Tap Other at the bottom of the provider list, then Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, full email address, mailbox password, and a description like “Work email”. Tap Next.
- Make sure IMAP is selected at the top. Under Incoming Mail Server, enter Host Name imap.hostinger.com, User Name your full email address, and your password.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter Host Name smtp.hostinger.com, the same username, and the same password. Tap Next.
- The iPhone will verify the settings. If verification succeeds, choose Mail (and optionally Notes) and tap Save.
If verification fails on the iPhone, double-check that you typed the full email address as the username in both the incoming and outgoing sections — leaving the outgoing username blank is the most common iPhone-specific mistake.
Common errors and how to fix them
- Outlook keeps asking for the password: the password is wrong. Reset it in hPanel (Email → Email Accounts → manage the mailbox) and try again. Copy and paste it to avoid typos.
- “Cannot verify server identity” or certificate warnings: make sure SSL/TLS is enabled and you are using ports 993 and 465. Do not disable certificate checks permanently.
- Can receive but cannot send: the SMTP settings are wrong or your network blocks port 465. Switch the SMTP port to 587 with STARTTLS and make sure SMTP authentication is enabled with your full email address.
- Mail appears on one device but not another: one device is probably using POP instead of IMAP. Switch it to IMAP so all devices stay in sync.
- New mailbox, nothing syncs: log in to Hostinger webmail once first. This confirms the mailbox itself works and rules out account-side problems.
Set up Hostinger email in the Outlook mobile app
The Outlook app for iOS and Android also supports IMAP accounts, which is handy if you prefer Outlook’s interface over Apple Mail:
- Install Microsoft Outlook from the App Store and open it.
- Tap Add Account → Add Email Account, then enter your full Hostinger email address.
- When Outlook cannot configure it automatically, choose IMAP from the advanced options.
- Enter imap.hostinger.com (port 993, SSL) for incoming and smtp.hostinger.com (port 465, SSL) for outgoing, with your full email address as the username for both.
- Sign in with your mailbox password. Your mail, calendar-less as it is with plain IMAP, will sync like any other account.
Note that plain IMAP only syncs email — not contacts or calendars. If you need those synced too, keep contacts in your phone’s own account (iCloud or Google) and use the Hostinger mailbox for mail only.
How to change or remove the account later
If you change your mailbox password in hPanel, every device will start failing authentication until you update the stored password. In Outlook, go to account settings and update the password in place rather than deleting the account — deleting and re-adding forces a full re-sync. On iPhone, open Settings → Mail → Accounts, tap the account, and update the password in both the incoming and outgoing server sections. If you ever delete the mailbox in hPanel, remove it from all devices promptly: a mail app retrying a deleted account with an old password can trigger temporary lockouts.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the free email included with Hostinger hosting in Outlook and on iPhone?
Yes. The free mailboxes included with Hostinger hosting plans use the same IMAP and SMTP settings described above and work in Outlook, Apple Mail, and any other standard mail app.
What is the difference between using webmail and IMAP in Outlook?
Webmail means reading mail in a browser. IMAP connects Outlook or your iPhone to the same mailbox, so messages, folders, and read states stay synchronized everywhere. With IMAP, deleting a message on your iPhone deletes it in Outlook too.
Why does Outlook keep asking for my password even though it is correct?
This almost always means the stored password does not match the mailbox password in hPanel — often because the mailbox password was changed. Reset the mailbox password in hPanel, then remove and re-add the account in Outlook with the new password.
Does Hostinger email work on Android as well?
Yes. Use the same IMAP and SMTP settings in Gmail’s “add another account” option, Samsung Email, or any Android mail app that supports IMAP.
