What changed, and why the old advice is wrong
Many older guides say Hostinger runs a Singapore data center. In its current support documentation, Hostinger lists locations in Europe (France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the UK), Asia (India, Indonesia, Malaysia), North America (three US cities) and Brazil. Singapore is not on that list. We checked this on 13 Oct 2026, and locations can change, so confirm on the plan page before you pay.
This matters because the best web hosting in Singapore is usually decided by distance to your visitors, not by brand. A server in Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta is close to Singapore on the map, but it is still not in Singapore, and that has two practical effects: slightly higher latency than a local server, and no Singapore data residency if a client or regulator asks for it.
The nearest Hostinger locations for Singapore visitors
For shared and cloud plans you choose the data center at signup. For a Singapore audience, the sensible shortlist is Malaysia first, then Indonesia, then India. Pick the one that the plan page actually offers, and avoid the US or Europe unless your visitors are there. See our guide to Hostinger VPS locations for the VPS side, where the list is slightly different.
- Malaysia: the closest of the three to Singapore.
- Indonesia: a good second choice if Malaysia is not offered on your plan.
- India: works for South Asia traffic, less ideal for a Singapore-only audience. See hosting in India.
How to make a nearby server feel local
You can close most of the gap without a local server. Turn on the built-in CDN or a free Cloudflare layer, use LiteSpeed Cache on WordPress, compress images and keep plugins lean. Our low-latency hosting guide covers the full checklist. For brochure sites and blogs, visitors rarely notice the difference once caching is on.
When Hostinger is a good fit for Singapore
Hostinger is a sound pick for Singapore blogs, portfolios, startup landing pages and small business sites where price matters and a Malaysian or Indonesian server is acceptable. You get LiteSpeed servers, free SSL, a free domain on longer terms and 24/7 live chat. Read our Hostinger review for the full picture and renewal prices before you commit to a long term.
When to look elsewhere
- You need data stored in Singapore for a client contract or regulation.
- Your users are almost entirely in Singapore and every millisecond counts, for example a trading or gaming tool.
- You want phone support, which Hostinger does not offer.
- You need Windows hosting, since Hostinger is Linux only. See our Windows hosting guide.
In those cases compare providers that list a Singapore location on the plan page, and verify it before paying. For VPS buyers, see how Hostinger compares with Hetzner, which has an Asian location of its own to check.

FAQ
Not in its current published list of locations as of 13 Oct 2026. Its nearest options are Malaysia, Indonesia and India. Always confirm the list shown on the plan page when you sign up.
Choose Malaysia if your plan offers it, then Indonesia. Both are far closer to Singapore than Europe or the US. A CDN will help further.
Yes for typical blogs, portfolios and brochure sites, with a nearby server and caching. No if you need Singapore data residency or phone support.
Hostinger lets you pick a location at setup and offers ways to move a site, but the rules depend on the plan. Check the current support page before relying on it.
